Is THC legal in Connecticut? YES! Effective July 1, 2021 with Chapter 420h Connecticut regulated Cannabis use for adults.
Are THC Drinks legal in Connecticut? YES, but Connecticut is one state that will not allow beverages to exceed 3 milligrams of infused THC per 12 oz container, and will only allow the sale of such a product by licensed retailers.
Why the low dose? Lawmakers in Connecticut have made their hemp-derived THC landscape quite unique in comparison to the national landscape; while many states defer to the national limit of 10mg per container of a hemp derived-THC Drink, with up to 5mg per serving, Connecticut has created a special limitation keeping the state's THC stock at a lower dose of 3mg per container.
In April of 2024, the Connecticut Mirror reported "Connecticut lawmakers are making final adjustments to a bill that would, for the first time, regulate the sale and potency of THC-infused beverages and other consumer products containing THC derived from hemp," presumably to address a loophole that previously existed in the State's legal landscape of THC Beverages: Liquor Stores and similar vendors were able to sell THC beverages without special licensing, which evaded the State's intent behind the legal sale and purchase of hemp-derived THC drinks.

But Infinity Smoke Shop in Stratford, Connecticut as well as other business owners around the area have already raised the chorus of opposition. The smoke shop has filed a suit that alleges the Connecticut law that took effect on October 1st violates the federal law governing the amount of THC allowed in hemp products. The plaintiffs are seeking to “have the court issue an injunction on the endorsement of all changes, and specifically change in the definition of hemp,” (Retailers sue Connecticut) as they believe this new law contradicts the federal status quo with Hemp Products that contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight—the same make-up of full spectrum CBD products like ours. If the fine people of Connecticut wish to have a higher potency option of products like ours, we have our fingers crossed for them, but until then, look for our 3mg Flying Clouds on the shelves of licensed retailers! A 3mg serving of THC infused sodas, seltzers, or lemonades, is still a viable and impactful experience, especially for individuals who have less experience with the product.
